Hope for disused joinery site

HOPES have been raised that jobs could be created on the site of a disused Yorkshire joinery.

The former Oakworth Joinery site in Keighley is up for sale, after Manchester-based asset recovery and insolvency support group Winterhill Largo was appointed LPA receiver.

The site was home to Keighley’s second largest employer, Oakworth Joinery, which collapsed in February 2012 with the loss of 170 jobs.

David Currie, Winterhill Largo director, said: “We are currently talking to a number of interested parties.

“It would be excellent to see a site that was, for many years, home to one of Keighley’s biggest employers, brought back to life and become a thriving workplace once again.”
