Housing partnership celebrates milestone for regeneration project

QSH, the affordable housing developer, has completed a redevelopment project which is expected to provide a significant economic boost for Bradford.

The developer has finished work on the Chain Street project in Bradford, which represents one of QSH’s largest redevelopment projects to date. The homes are being managed by the Bradford-based social housing group, Incommunities, for QSH.

The new homes have been built as part of the second phase of a scheme to transform the Goitside area of the city. As part of the phase one development, Incommunities delivered 16 homes for rent, with the conversion of two blocks of bedsits and flats in the Chain Street area. Barnfield Construction is building 32 homes at the scheme, with 12 of them earmarked for the private rented sector.

Nicola Clayton, business development director at QSH, said: “Today marks the completion of our new homes at Chain Street, and a celebration of a successful partnership project between Bradford Council and Incommunities to deliver a unique regeneration project which saw the Goitside area come back to life after many years of neglect.

“But more than that, the delivery of Chain Street represents the start of a new chapter for the tenants who are settling into their new homes.”

Coun Val Slater, Bradford Council’s executive member for housing, transport and planning, said: “The completion of new homes at Chain Street represents a real milestone in the regeneration of Goitside. It’s lovely to see new tenants settling into their properties and for the first time in a long time, they have high quality, well designed homes they can truly be proud to call home.”
