How Asquith is at the cutting edge

YORKSHIRE academics are helping a manufacturing firm to stay ahead of its foreign rivals.

Next month, local people will be able to find out about the cutting edge technology which is behind Asquith Butler’s success.

The company, one of the last remaining UK manufacturers of large capacity machine tools, is holding an open house exhibition at its manufacturing facility and technical centre in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, from December 4 to 6.

Visitors will be able to see a system which has been developed for use on large machine tools by the University of Huddersfield’s Centre for Precision Technology, in collaboration with Asquith Butler. The machine can reduce geometric errors by up to 90 per cent, which saves time and money.

Equipment suppliers co-exhibiting will be Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Renishaw, Sandvik, Cytec Systems and CNC Rotary.

Those wishing to attend should contact Paul Hinchliffe, Asquith Butler’s managing director, by emailing [email protected], for more information.
