HS2 on agenda at Bradford meeting with city hall CEOs

THE chief executives of Bradford, Leeds and York councils will next month address an audience of West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce delegates over the issue of connectivity between the cities.

They will be joined by Stephen McFarlane, head of community and stakeholder engagement at HS2 Ltd, the state-owned company responsible for promoting and developing the high-speed rail line between London and the North.

The local authority chiefs will set out what they feel should be done to help connect businesses between the cities and how they are planning to tackle commuting and other movements of growing populations in the region.

Paul Mackie, President of Bradford Chamber, said: “This promises to be an interesting event for businesses.

“The speakers will be challenged on the various business concerns relating to transport in West and North Yorkshire, so it’s an opportunity for them to highlight their plans and strategies, as well as consider what businesses will be telling them.”

The lunchtime event takes place at Bradford’s Cedar Court Hotel on June 20. To book, send an email to [email protected]
