Human resources consultant joins law firm from developer

Law firm Gordons has appointed human resources consultant Amanda Gee. Ms Gee has joined from Manchester-based Ways HR Consulting having previously been the HR director at Manchester-based real estate developer Opal Properties. Gordons has offices in Leeds and Bradford.

Independent private medical insurance intermediary, The Private Health Partnership (PHP) has appointed Judith Warr financial controller. Ms Warr joins the Baildon-based firm after spending eight months as financial director of a Leeds-based subsidiary of TUI Travel. Prior to working for TUI Travel, she spent seven years at the Towergate Partnership Insurance Brokers.

Law firm Walker Morris has announced the appointment of property lawyer Philip Harris as a consultant. Mr Harris, who will be based in Leeds, was previously a partner and head of trade at the London firm of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys Gill Jennings and Every.

Words&Pictures has appointed communications consultant Gerry Smyth as an associate director. Mr Smyth, who also represents a national consumer insights body and a leading communications institute, started his career at Straker Films as a commercial director. He will be based at the firm’s headquarters in Otley.

Julian Martin, chairman and chief executive of ICE Renewables, has been elected as the inaugural chair of RenewableUK’s Small and Medium Wind Group. Mr Martin, who co-founded ICE Renewables in Northallerton, has also spent recent years as a Government adviser on the Feed-in Tariffs.

Andy Allchin has joined accountancy firm Baker Tilly as partner, working from the chartered accountant and business adviser’s Leeds and Saltaire offices.

Mr Allchin, who has 20 years experience in auditing and advising corporate clients and Registered Social Landlords, has transferred from Baker Tilly’s Bristol office where he led the firm’s South West audit team.

Commercial property agent Colliers International has appointed Leigh Parsons to head its licensed and leisure team for Yorkshire and the North East. He joins the Leeds office after a period of running his own consultancy.

Business turnaround and insolvency specialist Wilson Field has appointed a new associate. Kris Wigfield will be responsible for helping to enhance the Sheffield-based firm’s links with those in the financial services industry from across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. Mr Wigfield previously ran his own finance brokerage and pre-pack insolvency business.
