The Big Investment Project, being unveiled tomorrow at Made Festival in Sheffield, will select business opportunities with the most potential and put them forward to a group of City fund managers. Investment opportunities will range in size from £10m to £75m. The innovative scheme is backed by Lord Bilimoria of Cobra Beer, Lord Wolfson of Next and Keith Morgan from the Business Bank based in Sheffield.

Jill Thomas, junior vice president of Sheffield Chamber, said fund managers cannot find enough projects to invest in. She said: “We want to change that by providing specialist help to turn large, transformational projects ideas into reality.”

Made Festival takes place on Wednesday and Thursday this week and features speakers including Levi Roots, Michelle Mone and Wayne Hemingway.
