Hyundai dealer joins the Benfield family

The group, believed to be West Yorkshire's largest independent Ford dealer, has taken on a Hyundai franchise at Kirkstall Road, Leeds.

Benfield is a family business owned by the Squires family, which was first established in Guiseley nearly 20 years ago.

It added five dealerships to its portfolio last year and now has 31 in Yorkshire, Cumbria, the North East and Scotland, with 1,100 people.

Paul Rogers, Benfield's regional director, said: "Hyundai is a global leader in car manufacturing and have recently added some very exciting new and stylish cars to their range.

"Benfield now has a very strong portfolio of franchises within the group and we are looking forward to representing Hyundai with its undoubted global appeal."

Korean-owned Hyundai is the fourth largest car manufacturer in the world.

Benfield already has a Ford showroom on Kirkstall Road, Leeds.

Benfield Motor Group is a major motor dealer in West Yorkshire, having acquired the old Trimico Ford and Toyota/Ford businesses from Hartwell.

It was founded 52 years ago and has had a presence in Yorkshire for 20 years.

It has a purpose-built Ford site on York Road in Leeds and has invested 1m in its Toyota and Lexus dealerships on Domestic Road, Leeds.
