Insight into a deal at glazing business

sheffield dealmakers combined their expertise to deliver a ‘bimbo’ deal at a Derbyshire building products firm.

Accountants from BHP Corporate Finance, and lawyers from DLA Piper, advised on the buy-in, management buyout, led by Paul Russell at Insight Architectural Glazing. The transaction involved a substantial, undisclosed sum.

Insight designs, manufactures, supplies and installs aluminium glazed windows, doors and curtain walling to customers including Tesco.

David Forrest, of BHP, said: “We are delighted to have been able to make this deal happen, despite the challenging funding environment for deals in this sector.”

The buy-in management team have invested substantially to buy the business, along with funding provided by NatWest Structured Debt Solutions.

Mr Russell said the deal should set the foundation for exciting growth over the next few years.

“This deal has been a long time in the making, but is a triumph for patience, perseverance and maintaining a clear focus,” he added.
