Insight into protecting a top brand

A SENIOR figure at Marks & Spencer will give an insight into how the retailer enhances its public profile at a major event in Yorkshire this month.

Marks & Spencer’s director of communications and investor relations, Dominic Fry, will deliver a lecture at the University of Leeds on Thursday, March 17 from noon. With the title “Protecting and Enhancing the reputation of a National Icon”, the lecture will give an insight into the role played by public relations in formulating the retailer’s strategies over the last 127 years.

Mr Fry said: “It takes years to build trust and minutes to destroy it; protecting an iconic brand like M&S requires an intricate and long-term strategy.
