Investment increases turnover at Millers Oils

Industrial and automotive oil manufacturer Millers Oils has passed the £25m turnover mark following a year of investment and development.

In the past 12 months, the firm, which is based in Brighouse, said it added oil filtration services – for manufacturers using hydraulic systems – to its offering, and continued to increase sales of its range of automotive oils and lubricants products in the UK and across Europe.

The company has made a series of staff appointments.

It is also preparing to open a new research and development centre later this year.

The company said the new complex would allow it to remain at the “cutting edge” of oil and lubrication technology for products used in motorsport, automotive and agricultural vehicle applications, as well as industry.

Joint managing director Nevil Hall said: “We are well known for our product innovation in the automotive sector and in the field of motorsport where our products have given us the tag of ‘the masters of low friction’.

“However, it is in R&D and industrial services where we are expanding and we have gained a market position few of our competitors can enjoy.

“In the past five years we have doubled our turnover, increased services and maintained the very high quality of our products – all of this against the backdrop of the toughest recession in living memory.

“Where our competitors have scaled back operations or retreated from the UK market altogether, we have continued to innovate, supplying our expertise to the motorsport industry, automotive sector and to our growing list of industrial customers.”
