Investment tips for the future

An upmarket American gym-wear firm and a Japanese tyre manufacturer were investment tips given at Unique Boutiques.

Julian Lewis, from Cavendish, highlighted lululemon athletica which, in its own words, makes clothing for "most sweaty pursuits" and praised it for growing from 40 stores to 130 in the last five years.

He also picked out Toyo Tyre and Rubber Company, of Japan, which trades in Britain as Toyo Tires.

Mr Lewis also predicted a bounceback in global demand for capital goods, continued growth in emerging markets and an increase in the number of mergers and acquisitions in the healthcare industry.

Anthony Cross, from Liontrust, said his organisation was looking to invest in firms with high margins and strong balance sheets.
