BIG four accountancy firm PwC predicts a slow recovery for mid-sized companies over the next few years, but it is on the lookout for stellar performers that can buck the trend.

PwC’s head of private business in Yorkshire Arif Ahmad said it is these outperformers that will be recognised at the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards.

He was speaking as it was announced that the deadline for entering the awards has been extended until this Friday even- ing.

Mr Ahmad said the PwC team is looking forward to meeting many more mid-sized companies this year as part of selecting a win- ner.

Future winners should log on to the Yorkshire Post’s homepage to be in with a chance of winning the highly coveted award for best company with a turnover of between £10m and £50m.
