Jewish education site on the market

A BUILDING which has been used by members of Yorkshire’s Jewish community is up for sale.

The Leeds office of chartered surveyors Eddisons has been appointed to market a site on Sandhill Lane, in Moortown, Leeds, which includes a three-storey office building.

For the last 15 years it has been used by the Leeds Jewish Education Authority (LJEA) and The Zone Youth Centre, who are moving to the Brodetsky School site in Alwoodley, Leeds.

The LJEA is more than 100 years old and the monies released from the sale will enable it to continue supplying Jewish education to all members of the community, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Stephen Harrison, associate director of Eddisons, said yesterday: ‘This is a prominent site in an affluent suburb of North Leeds and could be suitable for a variety of uses, subject to planning. The surrounding area is predominantly residential, with a mixture of retail premises.”
