Jobs in the pipeline as Paragon Healthcare completes care home project

PARAGON Healthcare has built a new care home in the East Riding of Yorkshire, with 40 jobs set to be created when it opens.

The group, which currently employs 60 people, said that it expects to open the site at Wilberforce Lodge, Pocklington overlooking the local airfield in September.

Paragon Healthcare, which already operates Westwood Park, a 51-bedroom care home in Beverley, and Londesborough Court Care Home, a 30 bedroom residential home in Market Weighton, said its latest project in Pocklington provides purpose-built accommodation for elderly residents, dementia patients, and patients with physical disabilities.

Megan Kennedy, director of Paragon Healthcare, said: “Care for the elderly and dementia sufferers has never been more important and with an ageing population, it’s important we can provide the right level of care this vulnerable sector of society deserves.”

She said it has been “very rewarding” seeing the development come to fruition. Paragon Healthcare built the home with funding from Barclays. The company declined to disclose the amount of funding it received.

The group said that it anticipates that its current annual turnover of £1.5m will “increase substantially” as a result of the investment.
