Jobs saved in rescue of Bottleworks

MORE than 260 jobs have been saved after a Yorkshire-based glass manufacturer was sold out of administration.

Jeremy Bennett and Steven Muncaster, partners at the advisory and investment banking firm Duff & Phelps, were appointed joint administrators of Bottleworks, which is based in Normanton, West Yorkshire, earlier this month.

Yesterday, it was revealed that Mr Bennett and Mr Muncaster had secured the sale of the business and assets to Yorkshire Bottles Solution.

All 261 employees were transferred to the new buyer as part of the sale.

Bottleworks is involved in packing, labelling and decorating glass, ceramic, metal and plastic containers.

The deal involved some of the firm’s management.

Leeds-based Mr Bennett said yesterday: “We’re really pleased with the outcome.

“It is great news that the future of Bottleworks has been secured, including the future employment of its staff.”
