The Malton-based firm took the Northern England title and went on to beat all other regional winners at the ceremony in London.

The firm, which supplies the retail, trade and food service industries, launched as a privately owned company in January 2013 following the purchase of Vion Food Group’s UK pork division by private equity company Endless.

Employing over 3,000 people, Karro has an annual turnover of £528m and eight divisions in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The Federation said the business has seen exceptional growth over recent years, moving from an underperforming company to one that is successfully delivering strong growth and profits on a consistent basis ahead of target.

The awards, held at a black tie dinner hosted by TV presenter and comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli, are the food and drink industry’s benchmark of excellence for innovation, competitiveness and talent.

Di Walker, executive chairman of Karro Food Group, said the award wins were a fitting recognition of the hard work of everybody across the business.
