Leeds-based BigChange grows revenues after challenging first half of 2020

Leeds-based tech firm BigChange grew its revenues by £600,000 to £8.2m during the first half of the year thanks to a raft of new customer wins.

The firm, founded by CEO Martin Port, welcomed 166 new customers onto the platform in the six months to the end of June when it also secured a record £13m-worth of new contracts.

BigChange also invested £500,000 on a new business analysis and artificial intelligence product, which will be launched later this year.

During the last six months order values are up 25 per cent on last year, with the majority new business coming in through customer referrals.

Mr Port said: "When I was creating the business plan for 2020, I had no idea that this would end up being one of the most challenging, worrying, strange and illuminating years of my entire career. "

He added: "I know we’ve weathered the storm better than many, and for that I’m hugely grateful to my incredible team and our loyal, fantastic customer base."

Among the new client wins included Sunbelt Rentals, formerly A-Plant, part of Ashtead Group and the largest equipment rental company in the UK.

During lockdown, BigChange released a number of features to help mitigate the impact of COVID-19 including a new ‘no touch’ signature feature for mobile workers, as well as integration with some of the world’s most commonly used tools, such as Outlook and Word.

It won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category and improved its customer satisfaction Net Promoter rating.
