Leeds Digital Festival Awards to shine spotlight on brightest and best

THE region’s finest digital businesses will be honoured at a major awards ceremony.

The third annual Leeds Digital Festival Awards, which were originally due to take place in April, have been re-launched with support from Leeds-based Amsource and the top 100 law firm Ward Hadaway.

A spokesman said: “These not-for-profit awards celebrate the success of the digital and tech industry in Leeds and the wider city region in the last year. In the face of real adversity in recent months, the sector has continued to thrive.”

The final shortlisted nominees will be selected by a panel of experts from the Leeds digital and technology sectors. Judges include Cleveland Henry (UKCloud Health), Greg Wright (The Yorkshire Post), Zandra Moore (CEO of Panintelligence – winner of Tech Innovation of the Year 2019) as well as the chief officer of Economic Development at Leeds City Council, Eve Roodhouse.

Sponsors of this year's awards include: Little Agency, University of Leeds, Crisp, Ad:venture, Sedulo, The Phoenix Partnership, Marsh, SCC, PanIntelligence and Leeds City Council.

Commenting on her role as a judge, Eve Roodhouse said:: “I’m delighted to be a judge for the 2020 Leeds Digital Festival Awards, and there is much for us to feel optimistic about in the city.

"This is a great way of us showcasing some of the areas where we can still do a lot together as a city.

"We are going to have our challenges in terms of the economy, but I think the tech and digital sector has a big role to play in terms of the momentum that the sector has, and how the sector can play it’s role in supporting the city and the region during this recovery.

"This is a brilliant way to build further momentum and show where those stars are in our tech and digital sector.”

Zandra Moore, CEO of PanIntelligence, said: "As a previous winner at the Leeds Digital Festival Awards, I know first hand just how important that recognition and validation can be for both businesses and individuals alike.

The rescheduled awards will be held on the 30th of September, with the final format in line with the latest public health guidelines.

Nominations with be closed on August 7.
