Legal dealmaker Richard Marshall replaces veteran lawyer Peter Smart at top partners’ forum

DEAL-MAKING LAWYER Richard Marshall has been appointed regional head of a membership group for the leaders of legal and accountancy firms.

The managing director of Lupton Fawcett Denison Till, the Leeds, Sheffield and York-based commercial law firm, replaces the veteran corporate lawyer Peter Smart as Yorkshire chairman of the Managing Partners’ Forum.

Mr Smart, the former managing partner of Walker Morris, said: “I genuinely mean it when I say that Richard is the perfect choice and I cannot think of a better successor!”

Mr Marshall has been an active consolidator in the legal market.
