LNT deal sees all staff receive iPhone handset

YORKSHIRE-based LNT Group has signed a £1.7m deal over three years with mobile phone firm O2 to help keep its staff informed.

LNT, which has business interests ranging from the construction sector to care homes, has signed one of the UK’s biggest i-phone deals with O2. It has bought every member of staff a new Apple iPhone handset.

The Leeds company has bought 1,700 phones to improve internal communications and boost the business.

The company’s chairman, Lawrence Tomlinson, said he wanted to harness technology while keeping a family feel to the business.

The company has developed its own iLNT App to send messages to every member of the team or groups within businesses. Staff will be able to use them to check their hours and holidays as well as receive important corporate communications.

Mr Tomlinson said yesterday: “Some of the team don’t have internet or mobile phone access. Digital communication is faster and more efficient. It’s a user friendly way of communicating with so many people.”
