Loan boost sees firework retailer open new showroom

Jimmy's Fireworks is licensed to sell some of the most powerful fireworks on the market and will trade from premises on the Wentworth Industrial Park, in Tankersley.

The firm, which is run by Jimmy Singh and his son, Paul, has been trading for more than 25 years. With a turnover of 2m a year, Jimmy's Fireworks is one of the biggest fireworks retailers in the country.

Company owner, Jimmy Singh said: "It's fantastic for us as a business, and for our customers, that we can now display more of our product range and offer a much more inviting environment for our customers when they come to deal with us. This location has everything we need.

"Fireworks are an irreplaceable part of November 5 and, of course, this is when we do most trade. However, we sell fireworks for New Year parties, birthdays, weddings and many other events as well."

Andy Tyas, relationship manager for RBS, said: "Jimmy is an ambitious businessman with a great enthusiasm for his product. This made him an ideal candidate for this funding."
