Logic raises the alarm for tube project

A YORKSHIRE-based firm is playing a significant role in one of Europe’s biggest construction projects.

Knaresborough-based Logic Fire and Security provided fire protection and a public address voice alarm system at Crossrail’s Tunnelling and Underground Construction Academy, a facility that will provide training in tunnel excavation work.

The £60bn underground urban metro service will link Maidenhead and Heathrow in the west, to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east. Sean McPartland, who founded Logic with his brother Andy in 2001, said the contract with Crossrail paved the way for greater involvement in the project.

“Our aim is to secure the contract to supply the bulk of the fire and security systems for the entire scheme to create what could potentially become the largest fire alarm network in Europe,” said Mr McPartland.
