Logistics firm extends relationship with Asda

Third-party logistics company Wincanton has extended its relationship with Asda for the management of its transport and warehousing operations.

The Wincanton-Asda relationship dates back to 2005, and this two-year extension will see the logistics firm continue its services to the Leeds-based supermarket through to 2023.

The partnership includes the management of warehousing and national transport operations across four key Asda sites in Doncaster, Larne, Rochdale and Wigan, covering frozen, chilled and ambient grocery, and general merchandise.

The contract employs 1,385 Wincanton staff and 53 vehicles.
