It comes two months after the team added director Peter Foskett, formerly of Gordons, to its ranks.
Mr Foskett has been named as registrar at the diocese, which is the largest in England. It covers 2,452 square miles from County Durham to Barnsley, encompassing Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield and Ripon.
The newly-formed diocese was created in April 2014. Mr Foskett previously served as registrar for the Bradford Diocese prior to the amalgamation.
His role will involve providing legal advice to the Bishop of Leeds Nick Baines, as well as the clergy and church wardens of the three cathedrals and 656 churches within the group.
Mr Foskett is one of two recent appointments to the team. Caroline Mockford also recently joined the practice, having previously worked at East Midlands-based firm Chattertons McKinnells Solicitors.
Richard Marshall, managing director at Lupton Fawcett Denison Till, said there is scope for further growth in the team.
He said: “Our ecclesiastical department has been recognised for its significant expertise by the independent legal directories, Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.
“The addition of Peter and Caroline to the team consolidates that reputation and creates a team of truly national standing.”
Lupton Fawcett Denison Till has extensive experience in its ecclesiastical team, advising prominent clients in the region.
Director Lionel Lennox was registrar of the Province and Diocese of York for 27 years, before recently handing the role for the Diocese of York to Ms Mockford.
She will now serve as legal adviser Archbishop John Sentamu and the team working across 600 churches and 470 parishes.
Mr Lennox will continue as registrar to the Province of York and become deputy registrar for the city’s Diocese.
The ecclesiastical specialist is one of only two provincial registrars in the country. The role will involve advising the Archbishop of York on the procedure and legal requirements for the instalment and resignation of bishops, as well as providing assistance with disciplinary issues.
Mr Lennox has also been appointed as registrar of the Isle of Man’s Diocese of Sodor and Man.
