The money will go towards providing vital services for the local cancer charity. The firm said that £10,000 will fund four full days of support in the Leeds care centre including face-to-face, phone and virtual support at a demanding time of year.

Each year, staff from each of Bevan Brittan’s offices in Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and London vote for a charity to support. Many of the charities are chosen because of personal connections with members of staff and their families. The firm’s Leeds office selected Maggie’s Leeds this year.

The head of the Bevan Brittan’s Leeds office, Michael Boyd, said: “I am delighted that we are able to provide some extra support after what has been a very challenging year. £10,000 will make a real difference at Christmas and we are proud to support an organisation which makes such a positive contribution to the local community, more often than not, at very difficult times.

“Community engagement is a big part of our culture at the firm and we play an active role in local communities in Leeds and Yorkshire, through both individual and collective fundraising activities as well as pro bono work. We will look forward to continuing to fundraise and support our Leeds Office charity in 2021.”

Amanda Procter, centre head at Maggie’s Leeds, said: “We are hugely grateful to our corporate partner, Bevan Brittan, for their incredibly generous donation of £10,000.

“2020 has been an extremely challenging year for fundraising and I am pleased to say that £10,000 will fund four full days of support in the centre. This includes face-to-face, phone and virtual support. Thank you to everyone at Bevan Brittan.”

Bevan Brittan is donating a total of £40,000 across its local office charities this Christmas, with each of its four offices giving £10,000 to the causes they support throughout the year
