Manufacturer to drive forward green building products

THERE’S never been a stronger demand for ‘green’ building products, which is good news for a Yorkshire-based firm with dreams of expansion.

Iplas, the manufacturer of the Zyplex range of sustainable building products, is on target to become a £15m business in the next two years.

The Halifax-based business has reported a 50 per cent increase in sales on the previous year. Iplas manufactures products made from Zyplex, a range of blended polymers made from recycled plastics that are also recyclable themselves.

The company sells to sectors including the social housing, rail, industrial and marine industries.

Its output includes fencing, crib walls, paving, outdoor and street furniture; and a range of products for the construction industry.

Grahame Hall, the Iplas chief executive, said the building blocks were in place for further growth. The company is also producing the first railway sleepers made from Zyplex.

Mr Hall said: “The last year has been very successful for the group and we are confident about the future. We see Zyplex as the new standard for building materials with thousands of possibilities for its use and we will continue to drive the brand forward.
