Message of hope from retail development

The chief executive of the British Property Federation has given a thumbs up to Land Securities’ £350m Trinity Leeds shopping centre after visiting the building site.

Liz Peace said: “In the current economic climate it is heartening to be able to see the UK’s largest on-going retail and leisure development taking shape under the skilled hands of so many construction workers.

“As well as providing thousands of jobs now and when it opens in spring 2013, a major project of this nature provides hope and sends out a confident message about the important role that the property sector plays in the British economy. I was impressed to learn how Land Securities is working with the local authority and the wider community as an intrinsic part of the project.”

Portfolio director Gerald Jennings also briefed her about the firm’s White Rose Shopping Centre and its work alongside the council on the Investment Partnership for South Leeds (IPSL).
