Mills and Reeve continues to grow real estate team

Mills and Reeve has expanded its Leeds-based real estate team, as part of its continued growth plans.

Lucy Johnson joins the firm as solicitor, bringing the real estate team to four a year after its launch.

Simon Sherwood, partner and head of real estate in Leeds, said Ms Johnson will be “a valuable addition” to its nationally-recognised team.

Ms Johnson’s appointment is part of its “ambitious plans” for future growth, the firm added.

Since it was founded in 2008, Mills and Reeve’s Leeds office has grown to 16 fee earners, with additional support staff.

Earlier this year, the firm announced £80m turnover in 2013/2014, up 13 per cent year-on-year. Fees from the Leeds office rose 21 per cent in the last 12 months.

Commenting on its growth, Leeds office head Philip Wray said there continues to be a gap in the regional market for a firm with its sector specialisms.

Mills and Reeve has expertise in the agriculture, charities, education, health, real estate and sports and technology sectors, among others.
