Mobile acquisition signals growth

MPRO – Mobile Phone Recycling Organisation – was established in Keighley in 2007 by managing director Johann Shepherd, of Wilsden, who has been running mobile phone repair centres for 20 years.

For the past three years, MPRO has been based at Odsal Top, Bradford. It has now been integrated into Commsprovider’s head office operation in Calderdale.

MPRO has two primary business activities, an approved repair centre for all makes of mobile phones and smart phones, and a recycling service offering to purchase redundant handsets from businesses and consumers. MPRO is a warranty repair centre for Samsung.

Luke Hayes, Commsprovider managing partner, said: “MPRO is a fantastic business to add to our core service portfolio, allowing us to offer a market-leading repair service for mobile devices.

“We are already one of only two Samsung Platinum Service Partners in the UK for telephone systems, so to become an approved warranty centre for Samsung Smartphones is the perfect fit.”

Mr Hayes added: “Over the past six months, we have doubled our staff numbers and now employ 24 people, which reflects the upside of a recession.

“Businesses continue to look to make economies on communication bills and efficiencies in the way they work – and we specialise in those areas.”

Group turnover is on target to top £2m this year, the company said.
