Mobile Tornado links up to push Instant application

TELECOMS firm Mobile Tornado is to team up with mobile software group Crimson Tide to push sales of Mobile Tornado’s Instant Talk mobile application.

Harrogate-based Mobile Tornado has developed a patented, internet-based Push To Talk technology, which allows businesses to communicate without relying on mobile phones.

Mobile Tornado and Crimson Tide hope that the partnership will expand to allow Mobile Tornado’s instant communication applications to be included in Crimson Tide’s workforce management solutions.

Mobile Tornado’s applications will give Crimson Tide’s subscribers the ability to talk directly to their head office, to co-workers or to dispatchers immediately.

The two companies believe that there may also be opportunities for Mobile Tornado to introduce the Crimson Tide workforce management application to some of its international partners. Barrie Whipp, executive chairman of Crimson Tide, said: “The ability to add instant voice, messaging and presence communications to our solutions gives us enhanced revenue possibilities.

“Mobile Tornado’s solution fits ideally with our own IP based communications.”

Jeremy Fenn, Mobile Tornado’s chief executive, said: “Crimson Tide is at the forefront of developments in mobile business applications.

“Their solutions replace the paper based processes that field operatives perform, increasing the effectiveness of remote workforces and delivering significant cost savings.

“I am confident that Crimson Tide’s customers will generate even greater efficiencies through the introduction of Instant Talk into their businesses.”

Crimson Tide supplies Mobile Apps for business including a smartphone, software and all services on a monthly subscription basis. Subscribers range from blue chip companies to small enterprises and Government institutions.

Mobile Tornado’s three main applications are Instant Talk, Instant Locate and Instant Alert.

Earlier this month Mobile Tornado announced plans to expand into America following a new agreement with Claro, the leading provider of telecoms services in Central America.

Mr Fenn said the group’s goal is to expand in Central America with Claro as well as expansion into South America.

Mobile Tornado is expanding worldwide following recent contract wins.

In May, it won a contract with a major Israeli mobile operator and earlier this year in January it signed an exclusive agreement with NECO, a supplier of emergency, safety and security products, to deliver Push to Talk mobile communication services in South Africa.
