Moordale Foods buys factory at business park

GARNESS Jones Chartered Surveyors has completed the sale of an office building and factory at the Gateway Business Park, in Gilberdyke, to Hull-based Moordale Foods.

The deal comes a year after J R Rix and Sons moved on to part of the site to expand its Victory Leisure Homes business.

Dave Garness, the managing director of Garness Jones, said there is now “strong interest” in other lots within the business park.

He added: “We are delighted to be able to conclude a deal with Moordale Foods and we hope to be able to report more success in the near future.

“The site offers some of the most cost-effective industrial space in East Yorkshire and has excellent transport links, with easy access to Gilberdyke railway station  and to junctions 37 and 38 of the M62.

“The remaining lot is a sizeable former factory area and one of the options we may explore is to create smaller units,” Mr Garness added.
