Motus TV gets on the ball with Brazilian soccer legend

A START-UP Yorkshire production company which has worked with major pop stars and broadcasters and marks its fifth anniversary this year has created a film for Brazilian Soccer Schools (BSS).

Motus TV, which is based in Oulton, near Leeds, joined forces with Brazilian football legend Carlos Alberto to make a promotional film for BSS.

Alberto, who captained Brazil’s legendary 1970 World Cup winning side, took a starring role in Leeds entrepreneur Simon Clifford’s new film for BSS, made to mark its own 15th birthday.

Jonny Clarke, founding partner of Motus TV, said: “Working with Carlos Alberto was the perfect birthday present for us. He is a legend of the game and just goes to show how far we have come in five years.

“We are a young, independent company who have been successfully flying the flag for Yorkshire worldwide and are an example of the kind of talent our county has to offer.

“We have had a fantastic five years and plan to grow the business further and really cement our position as one of the north of England’s leading production companies.”

Motus has also carried out post-production work for Justin Timberlake’s Love Stoned video as well as Halifax Bank of Scotland and broadcaster ITV.

The Yorkshire firm specialises in television commercials, corporate television, online video and motion graphics for the broadcast and corporate industries. It has also created motion graphics and 3D animation,

Motus is also re-launching its website this week.

Mr Clifford is a former teacher who has built up a network of more than 650 soccer schools in dozens of countries since going into business in 1996.

Micah Richards, the Manchester City and sometime England defender, is among those to have attended BSS.

Mr Clifford said Motus’ dedication meant they stood out from their rivals.

“They are a young, ambitious and talented team, a bit like the Brazilian side of 1970 which Carlos Alberto captained.

“I’ve worked in TV and feature films for the past 15 years and I’ve never worked with a company who have been as good throughout the whole process from the early stages of developing the idea through to the final deliv- ery.”

Mr Clarke, a former freelance film editor, is one of five staff at Motus.

He said the firm was growing despite the struggles of the wider economy.

“We are getting busier and busier and are picking up more clients.

“Brazilian Soccer Schools was a good birthday present for us (but) we don’t shout about it too much.”
