There are traits that you are born with or develop in your upbringing such as your attitude to risk, enthusiasm and passion. However, things such as skill and experience help make consistent decisions and these are “made”.

Do you believe it’s become harder for entrepreneurs to make prudent investments since the crash of 2008?

People’s attitude towards investment has changed. They have become more imaginative in their approach.

What advice would you give to entrepreneurs who are looking to make a major investment?

Do your research, due diligence, check the numbers and ensure the management team is what it claims to be.

What’s the worst investment you’ve ever made?

Sometimes I have chosen the wrong person.

Which sectors are most likely to offer handsome returns for business investors?

Technology and cloud based companies. There are of course some sectors that did not get too affected by the 2008 crash such as the healthcare industry.

Are there any sectors you feel should be avoided?

There maybe sectors that are performing badly, such as construction, but in the recent 12 months has improved. It is all about doing your due diligence and understanding the deal.

What was the best piece of investment advice you’ve received?

Take your time and do your homework.
