Nestlé investment to boost coffee-site jobs
Twelve new high speed production lines will be introduced in a new extension to the existing Nescafé Dolce Gusto plant, which will manufacture pods of coffee for sale in the UK and across the world. The workforce at the factory will expand from 500 employees to 800 people by 2013.
Prime Minister David Cameron MP said: “This new investment by Nestle and the jobs it will create is brilliant news for UK manufacturing and for the local community.”

Hide AdPaul Grimwood, chairman and CEO, Nestlé UK & Ireland, said: “This investment in Tutbury will extend our best in class facility, trebling our production capacity for export to over 38 countries across the globe. In order to grow we need to innovate and we are committed to the continued modernisation of our UK manufacturing capability.”
Meanwhile, the company has also launched a new initiative called Nestlé Academy, under which Nestlé UK & Ireland has committed to double its number of graduates, apprentices and internships. A number of the graduates and apprentices are expected to be based at its York and Halifax sites. In addition, Nestlé Academy has seen Nestlé join with Leeds City College to establish a two-year programme, called the confectionery academy.
