Network contract boosts KCom prospects

Public sector networks or PSNs are shared private internets for use by the public sector, digitally linking thousands of workers and services.

They aim to replace the current system of individual IT networks, cutting duplicate infrastructure and reducing buying costs.

Often using existing infrastructure, PSNs connect services ranging from schools, councils and even police forces, to create a secure public sector internet.

KCom believes 30 to 70 regional PSNs could be required over the next three years, forming a rare pocket of buoyant public sector spending.
