New chairman named for Chamber

Mr Lindsay, who is head of the corporate department of the Leeds and Sheffield-based law firm, replaces Tom Morton, who will remain on the board until the end of the AGM in October. Mr Lindsay was a director and president of the York & North Yorkshire Chamber, before becoming a director of the merged Leeds, York & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce in 2008.

He said: “This Chamber is a force for good in our region, effectively representing its members and ensuring their concerns are heard at the highest levels of government, both nationally and regionally.

“With business increasingly working alongside key government partners, universities, local authorities and local enterprise partnerships, we have all the ingredients in place to help grow our region’s economy after the difficulties of the last few years, and I am looking forward to the challenge.”
