New director for Fenner

ENGINEERING firm Fenner has appointed a new senior independent director - Vanda Murray.

The former chief executive of Blick will take over the role from David Buttfield who will remain on the board as a non-executive director.

Ms Murray, 50, was awarded the OBE for services to industry and export in 2002.

Fenner chairman Mark Abrahams said: “We are delighted that Vanda has accepted the non-executive director position and we look forward to her joining the board in January.

“She is a very experienced, highly regarded professional with strong international commercial expertise and her background in sales and marketing will be highly complementary to the board’s mix of skills and corporate experience.

“I would also like to thank David Buttfield for having been a very able senior independent director for the last five years.”

Ms Murray is already a non-executive director of Carillion, Microgen, Vphase and Manchester Airport Group.
