New director for Robin Hood Airport

Robin Hood Airport has appointed Steve Gill as its new director.

Mr Gill, who is currently group environment and facilities director for parent company Peel Airports, will take charge from September 1.

He will be responsible for planning, directing and managing the day to day operations of both Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield and Durham Tees Valley Airports, under the direction of the Peel Airports chief operating officer with support from the wider Peel Airports team.

Mr Gill has almost 30 years’ experience in the aviation industry and has extensive expertise in airport planning and management.

He played a key role in the planning and delivery of the airport, which was developed from the former RAF Finningley.

During his career with Peel Airports, Mr Gill has also held responsibility for a wide range of services including IT, property management, health and safety, corporate and social responsibility along with various outsourced service contracts.

He said: “Having been involved with the airport during its initial development I am now naturally delighted to be able to take the airport forward in this new capacity and to help develop the business that uses this great facility.”
