New face at upbeat Zoo

SOFTWARE firm Zoo Digital said annual turnover is expected to beat expectations by rising to $15m (£9.7m).

The Sheffield-based company, which counts Walt Disney, Warner Bros and Sony Pictures among its clients, also used a trading update for the year to March 31 to announce it was appointing a new chairman.

Zoo said said Ebitda (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) would be about $1.6m.

It is also making an exceptional provision for the impairment of intangible assets of around $800,000. The year-end cash position is expected to be $1.2m, beating expectations.

Dr Christopher Honeyborne is standing down after ten years as a non-executive director, including the last four as chairman.

Roger Jeynes, who has more than 20 years experience in the technology sector, including in senior sales, marketing and general management roles in the UK, Italy and the US with IBM, Pyramid Technology, and EMC Corporation, takes over from April 28.

Hs most recent executive position was as chief operating pfficer at technology merchant bank Interregnum.
