New finance director for Croda

Natural chemicals firm Croda International has appointed a new finance director

Jez Maiden joins the Goole-based firm from National Express Group where he has been group finance director since 2008.

He will take up his new role early in the New Year and will succeed Sean Christie who announced in June that he would step down from the role in 2015 after nine years. Mr Christie will leave the company at the end of April 2015.

Mr Maiden’s previous roles include group finance director at Northern Foods, chief financial officer at British Vita as well as group finance director at Hickson International, both listed speciality chemical companies.

He has also served since 2007 as a non executive director of Synthomer, a FTSE 250 speciality chemical company.

Croda chairman Martin Flower said: “I am delighted to welcome Jez to the Croda board. He has an exceptional track record as a Group Finance Director and has had extensive experience working across the speciality chemical sector. He will be a valuable addition to our senior team and we look forward to working with him.

“On behalf of the board and all my Croda colleagues, I would like to thank Sean Christie for the outstanding contribution he has made to Croda over the last nine years. We wish him all the very best for the future.”
