GHM! is the second strategic investment made by Pepkor UK, a venture established in 2014 by retail entrepreneur Mr Bond and former Bain & Company consultant Mark Elliott. Pepkor UK manages corporate activity in the UK in support of the wider Pepkor group - a Cape Town-based investment company with retail interests in Africa, Australia and Eastern Europe. Its first investment, fashion brand PEP&CO, opened 50 stores in just over 50 days in the summer of 2015.

The new format has a leadership team with a strong background in retail. Managing director Koray Gul was co-founder and managing directorof international apparel business GAAT and he also held a number of senior trading leadership roles at Leeds-based Asda.
