South Yorkshire Investment Fund fund has provided a foundation for the growth of the region's economy, its chief executive has said.

Tony Goulbourn said the 60m venture capital and loan fund has created and safeguarded more than 9,100 jobs in South Yorkshire since its launch in 2001.

He said that more than 2,500 businesses have received assistance from the fund, which has now closed.
