New look pledged for city offices

A MAJOR refurbishment of one of Yorkshire’s best-known city centre office buildings has been announced by real estate investment business, Moorfield Group, and commercial property and development company Holbeck Land.

Plans are being drawn up for significant improvements to West Riding House, which fronts Bond Street and Albion Street, in Leeds.

It was acquired by London-based Moorfield Group in February.

The Leeds office agency teams of property consultants King Sturge and Savills have been appointed to market the 19-storey property. Leeds-based Holbeck Land is providing asset management for West Riding House, which also has 65,000 sq ft of retail space.

West Riding House was acquired by Moorfield Group after the previous owner, a Luxembourg private investment company, defaulted on its mortgage agreement and the property was placed into receivership by Anglo Irish Bank Corporation.
