Nexus aims to bring in more customers

A TELECOMS provider which has more than 700 customers in the Hull area has arrived in East Yorkshire with the aim of doubling that figure over the next year.

Managing director of Nexus Hull, Ashley Hunter, who has moved into offices at Melton Park, is in the process of finding locally-based agents to drive the business forward in preparation for a sales and admin recruitment campaign.

“We’ve already got more than 700 business customers in this part of the world and I would like to think we can get up to 1,500 by the end of 2012,” said Mr Hunter.

He added: “We have achieved that figure without a sales presence and without any advertising so we are now working to get our name and our face out there in a measured and controlled way.”

Until now those customers have been served by the Leeds office of Nexus, which Mr Hunter joined in 2001, becoming sales director before setting up his own telecoms consultancy two years ago – with Nexus as a client.

Nexus Hull has had a wholesale partnership with Kingston Communications since 2007. Mr Hunter said: “We are working towards becoming the ultimate distributor, effectively making us the wholesale arm of KC. We know the other operators in the city and we think we can complement each other.”
