No need to ASK, Oliver is the new sales director

OLIVER Riddle has been appointed sales director on the main board of Sheffield-based internet service provider ASK4.

Mr Riddle worked in London for 11 years with QAS Experian and Worksmart Technology before returning to his home city of Sheffield and joining ASK4 in February 2011.

ASK4 is a key supplier of managed internet services to student halls of residence. It said that the number of students supported at halls of residence in more than 20 cities across the country has trebled to more than 100,000 in the last three years. ASK4 chairman and CEO Jonathan Hudson said: “This appointment recognises Oliver’s strong contribution to sales within the student business over the past two years and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to developing our sales function across the group.”

Elsewhere, Leeds Building Society has appointed Tom Tinkler as general manager – operations. He will have responsibility for the mortgage lending, customer services and collections departments.

Mr Tinkler spent the last 10 years with the insurance broker Aon UK and, prior to that, spent eight years leading servicing and operations within First Direct.

Yorkshire accountancy firm Garbutt & Elliott has recruited a specialist tax consultant.

Sephiat Bolaji, who will be working from both the York and the Leeds offices of the accountants, joins from Ernst & Young in Newcastle.

Meanwhile, Leeds-based commercial laundry specialist JTM Service has appointed Vivien Curley as head of sales.

She previously worked as general manager for Vendors Plus – the supply arm of European Care Group – and has 20 years of experience in both sales and project management.
