Northern Tech Awards to celebrate the region's technology sector

A digital celebration of tech in the North is taking place later this month with a virtual event “Northern Tech Live”.

The 2020 Northern Tech Awards, were not able to take place as planned on March 26 in Leeds due to concerns over the coronavirus and will therefore be run as an online event highlighting and celebrating the digital economy of the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The event, organised by technology investment firm GP Bullhound, will be moderated by journalist Edie Lush, and will include live panel discussions and interactive Q&A with entrepreneurs including: Richard Law, former CEO of GB Group, and Carl Cavers, chief executive of Sumo Digital.

Topics will include how the Northern tech scene has developed over the past years, investment trends in the region and why the North is attractive to tech founders.

Registrations are open to entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders globally.

The ranking of the Northern Tech 100 League Table – a list of the top 100 fastest growing tech companies in the North – will be revealed and two awards will be presented to the Fastest Growing Company and the Fastest Growing Larger Company of the Year.

In addition, the Top 15 Northern Stars, identified as potential scaleups of the future, will be announced.
