Now local firms can pay visit to Business Doctor

The Leeds and North Yorkshire franchise, which provides support and strategic advice to owners and directors of SMEs, will be run by Simon Monaghan, who joins from his family business The Monaghan Group, a group of architectural ironmongers and hardware distributors, where he was managing director and chairman.

Business Doctors, which has some 30 franchises across the country and expects to turn over £3m in 2013, treble its 2011 figure, provides SMEs with a range of advice to drive business growth, from strategies for sales and profitable growth to advice for effective people management, accessing finance and acquiring other businesses.

Prior to running the family business, Mr Monaghan was in the Hong Kong Police for 17 years where he served as a senior inspector.

Mr Monaghan, who lives in Leeds, said: “As with all Business Doctors’ operations I am looking to bring my expertise and proven track record in business to help SMEs realise their growth aspirations. In my former role as a chairman and managing director of a £15m turnover business with some 100 people, I have dealt with everything from dealing with staff issues and cash flow problems; to negotiating with bank managers and suppliers.

“I hope to bring a fresh pair of eyes to my clients’ business and in doing so help them prosper.”

The Leeds and North Yorkshire operation is the 10th in the North, where Business Doctors also has a Yorkshire West franchise, which covers areas such as Bradford, Keighley and Halifax.
