Opening of new Twinkles nursery creates 40 jobs

Former primary school teacher Jill Johnson, founder and owner of Twinkles Nurseries Group, is opening her third nursery, Twinkles (Knaresborough). She started the business in 2001 and currently has facilities in both Boston Spa and Wetherby.

The group currently employs 59 people and has a turnover of £1.5m.

Mrs Johnson said the new 92-place nursery, catering for children between the ages of three months and five years, will create at least 40 new posts when it is full. “We work on a very high ratio of child to adult, and there will be a number of administration jobs as well”, said Mrs Johnson.

Twinkles (Knaresborough), on Manse Lane, opens on September 3.
