Overseas wins lift SoftSols

SoftSols Group, the Yorkshire-based maintenance management systems specialist, has seen its sales rise after securing contracts overseas.

The company’s 2010 turnover was more than £1.6m, a 19 per cent increase on the year before.

David Hipkin, the SoftSols group managing director, said: “We are continuing to have great success in selling to companies around the world including organisations in Poland, Australia and China.

“The international business is great but it’s exciting to see that there’s a lot of potential for growth right here in Yorkshire.”

New customers secured in 2011 include Bradford-based printing business St Ives Direct and garden products manufacturer Scotts Miracle-Gro, which is based in Howden.

SoftSols, which dates from 1984, employs 15 people at its office in Wrenthorpe, Wakefield and a further 10 internationally.

Last year, SoftSols Group revealed that it had acquired the Plan4 software system from Manchester-based Solutions PT for an undisclosed sum.

Plan4 is widely used in the manufacturing sector by organisations including bakery chain Greggs and Jiffy Packaging.
