It’s hardly surprising that there’s strong demand for property linked to tourism. The Yorkshire Dales Caravan Park has been acquired by Park Leisure 2000 from Lifestyle Living UK, off a guide price of £2.75m.

Based in a former quarry on the outskirts of Leyburn, the park covers 12.5 acres, and has space for almost 150 static holiday caravans. It also houses a warden’s lodge, reception and a work- shop.

Peter Smith, a Leeds-based director of GVA Hotels and Leisure, who helped to secure the sale, said: “Good-sized, well-located businesses such as Yorkshire Dales Holiday Park are in demand in the market, both from existing park operators and investors.

“GVA has seen increased activity in the market for holiday caravan parks, with established income streams, combined with potential for growth.”

York-based Park Leisure was founded in 1998 and owns holiday parks in locations including Cornwall, County Durham, Lancashire and Northumber- land.

The purchase of the Yorkshire Dales Holiday Park takes the company’s portfolio to eight five-star parks.

Director Miles Dewhurst said: “As a five-star owner-led holiday park operator, our intention is to further enhance this asset.”

David Williams, the managing director of holiday and residential park operator Lifestyle Living, said: “This sale is in line with our strategy of reducing the number of holiday park sites we own, while looking to increase our portfolio of park home sites.

“We are looking at a number of different park home acquisitions, and also actively seeking new park home sites that may come to the market.”
